How to build a simple skincare routine
Share
1. Keep the routine simple
Cleanser → Treatment serum → Moisturizer → SPF (morning)
At night: Cleanser → Treatment → Moisturizer
Consistency matters more than complexity.
2. Apply on slightly damp skin
Serums absorb better when skin is slightly damp rather than fully dry.
This supports better penetration and reduces potential irritation.
3. Use actives strategically
Copper peptides support skin barrier strength and firmness.
Avoid layering with strong acids or benzoyl peroxide in the same routine to reduce potential irritation or ingredient conflict.
4. Do not over-exfoliate
2–3 times per week is sufficient for most people.
Overuse can weaken the barrier, leading to breakouts and sensitivity.
5. Moisturizer is non-negotiable
Even oily skin requires hydration. Using a moisturizer that includes hyaluronic acid helps attract and retain water in the skin, improving plumpness and smoothness.
Dehydrated skin often compensates by producing more oil.
6. SPF daily
UV exposure is a major contributor to premature aging and hyperpigmentation.
Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every morning.
7. Patch test new products
Apply behind the ear or on the inner forearm for 24 hours before full-face use.
8. Think long term
Skin improvement is gradual. Evaluate results after 4–8 weeks, not a few days.
